Professional Player Update

The professional baseball season is now underway, and many former Flashes are back in action.  Below is a current list of former Kent State players who are in the Minor Leagues, what team they are starting the season on, what level and what parent team:

John Fasola- Hickory Crawdads (Class A, Rangers)
Eric Dorsch- West Virginia Power (Class A, Pirates)
Brian Clark- Winston-Salem Dash (Class A-Advanced, White Sox)
George Roberts- Visalia Rawhide (Class A-Advanced, Diamondbacks)
Derek Toadvine- Tampa Yankees (Class A-Advanced, Yankees)
Taylor Williams- extended spring training (Brewers)
Tyler Skulina- Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Class A-Advanced, Cubs)
David Lyon- High Desert Mavericks (Class A-Advanced, Rangers)
Travis Shaw- Pawtucket Red Sox (Triple-A, Red Sox)
Anthony Gallas- Akron RubberDucks (Double-A, Indians)

Andrew Chafin made the Diamondbacks opening day roster and currently has a 0.00 ERA in two appearances, 5.1 innings, with one hit, no walks and three strikeouts.

Video Blog: Jeff Duncan on getting healthy, the improvement of young players, and big expectations for season's second half

The Golden Flashes head coach checked in with his first video blog of 2015 just before the team boarded the bus to DeKalb for a weekend series. Young players are coming on as some veterans are getting healthy, and that has Kent State in a good position at just about the halfway point of the season.
